Having such luck with the weather, sunshine all the way from Clumber Park to Scarborough. Despite the panic about the site being too wet, my pitch was fine, and parking with my hab door facing south meant that I was sheltered from the fiercely cold north wind.

During my stay with the New Companions, I had a trip along the cliff to Burniston, another one into Scarborough, a trip to the RSPB sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs, where there were a multitude of Gannets, Razorbills and Guillimots starting to nest. Two trips to the local carvery, and a round trip via Whitby on the bus, Pickering on the North Yorkshire Moorlands Railway, and then back to Scarborough on the bus. At Pickering we went to the parish church to see the mediaeval paintings which are unique. We decided to walk from Scarborough to the Campsite, but what a mistake! Northerly galeforce winds made the walk very difficult, so stopped at the Ivanhoe for a drink and rest.
