The run from Les Islettes to Joinville proved to be a problem, as we were met, on trying to access the N4 with “Route Barre”, so had to find a different route through Saint-Dizier.
Arriving at Joinville, we took the last 3 places, and I was able to get electricity from the wharf (No doubt illegally.
We took a walk into Joinville, and stopped at a restaurant/bar for a drink. Whilst there, we decided to hang on until the restaurant opened and have a meal. There was a board on the table, advising that they prepared Sole Meuniere. We had trouble decoding the price, and eventually decided that it was 15 euros.
Mary and I chose the Sole, whilst Ruth chose Moules. The meal was very nice, and so was the wine. However we got a shock when the bill was presented, as the sole was priced at 45 euros, not 15 euros. Our mistake!!
The next day as the weather had held off, we took a walk along the canal and had a major discussion on the way back over the existence of frogs along the canal. That is to say whether it was frogs or birds making a croaking sound.
Later that day is started raining, and lo and behold an unusual rig arrived. A pedal trike towing a mini caravan (in which was the owner little dog.
