Strépy Thieu Boat Lift is on the Canal du Centre, and lifts canal traffic a height of over 73 metres. Whilst we were there, only one side was operational, with the other side being refurbished. We would like to have visited the engine room, but is was closed at the time.

We travelled to Strépy via luxembourg to buy baccy and fuel. our aim was to do the shopping in Remich, but the shop there did not have the baccy Peter wanted, so we drove on to Schengen, where the was a cluster of filling stations, and we filled up there before travelling on to the boat lift.
