The drive from Pasa de Regua to Salamanca tokk us through an array of scenereies, mountain in Portugal, arid on entering Spain, and finally a flat plain as far as the eye could see. When we got to the campsite, they had reserved pitches for us, which was very convenient.

We took a taxi into Salamanca, which took us to the plaza Major, and after visiting the city, including the cathedral and the Punta Romania, after having a meal, we found our way back to the Plaza and caught a taxi back.
