From Oradour, we travelled on to La Rochelle. Our first attempt to find somewhere for the night went horribly wrong when we we to the free aire. The aire was full, and whilst we were trying to sort out the route to the Park and Ride aire, we were hassled out of the car park by bus drivers, when we stopped for a few seconds on the bus parking area.
I managed to get the co-ordinates into my satnav, but was unable to give them to Ruth and Mary. To top it all, I led the way out of the wrong entrance, and we were split up in the traffic. I carried on only to find myself in part of the old town with its narrow streets. I eventually made it to the Park and Ride, and managed to get in contact with Ruth on the phone. I* gave her the co-ordinates of the aire, and they managed to catch up with me.
In the morning, we took the free bus into LA Rochelle, and had a pleasant day looking round the old town, and having a meal of Moules avec Frites.
