Arromanche les Bains is the location of the WW2 Mulberry Harbour, and there are remains of this fantastic project still visible from the beach. We firstly stopped at the aire in Arromanche, but the vans were so closely parked, that after we had visited the museum, which was very interesting, we moved to the aire on top of the cliffs to the east of the town, where we had a fine view of the harbour.

Overnight, there was a tremendous thunderstorm, which lasted for hours, and at times with the lightning and thunder, you felt like you were in the middle of WW2. There was no way of sleeping that night!
